The National Conference on Ending Homelessness

Artists at theSpace were tasked with designing uplifting and hopeful designs around the theme of housing.

As you can see below, the results offer a broad range of imagery while also representing each artist's style and personal vision. 

Select designs will be promoted in advance of the CAEH conference happening here in Ottawa.

All shirt designs will be available October 1st, 2024 for order online.

Puzzle Design by Amelia 

Created using over a dozen separate illustrations combined using puzzles as housing a key piece of solving homelessness. 

3D Pen Design - by Caroline

A series of items created by Caroline using a hand-held 3d pen that melts plastic filament into desired shapes. Look closely to see owls and birds among the landscape.

Icon Design - by Clara

This detailed collage is comprised of many of the essential items needed to solve homelessness such as targets, beds, ideas, agreements and goals that can be measured. 

Village Design - by Gail

Gail took the expression "it takes a village" and applied it to her design where she envisioned a place where everyone can live and exist together.

A visual aid listing all the items Malaika had researched that were essential things for addressing homelessness. 

Ottawa Design - by Michael N. 

A minimalist landscape inspired by his Florida artwork. Michael's housing assets are reworked for this Ottawa valley landscape piece.

A bee made of hexagons much like their honeycomb shape. Clara's design hopes to draw parallels between human and bees who build habits for all in a hive regardless of role and status.

Desmond sought to create symbols specifically for the conference happening in Ottawa where people from across the city and around the world come to Ottawa to discuss housing.
